报告摘要：Antarctica Optical/IR Astronomy has rapidly developed strong interests in the past five years thanks to very good observing conditions and potential to be competitive to costly space missions. Amongst the few inland stations developing astronomical activities, Dome C has been studied for more than ten years now and is probably one of the best characterized site. I will give an overview of the station and the latest results obtained there, both from site testing and from science  instrumentation currently in operation there. I will also present and discuss the concept of a 2-meter class Polar Large Telescope (PLT).
